Abstract
We present an experimental and theoretical study of high-intensity femtosecond pulse propagation on the free exciton resonance in CdSe. The results include pulse reshaping, pulse break-up, high transmission rates and a dip in the velocity dispersion for pulses tuned to the vicinity of the A-exciton. This corroborates evidence for nonlinear coherent on-resonance long-distance propagation in semiconductors.
