Coercivity and its role in thermomagnetic recording

Abstract

A model is proposed for the mechanism of magnetization reversal in thin films of amorphous rare-earth-transition-metal alloys. The model exhibits the observed features of the magnetization reversal process, coercivity and the processes of thermomagnetic recording and erasure.
