Abstract

Background:KDACis impair GR transactivation of the MMTV promoter, but their impact on cellular target genes is unknown. Results:KDACi or KDAC depletion suppresses transactivation of about 50% of GR target genes. Conclusion:KDAC1 is required for efficient GR transactivation in a gene-selective fashion. Significance:Because KDACs facilitate GR transactivation, clinical KDACi use may have a major impact on GR signaling.
