Abstract
We outline results from a model that incorporates the universal features of systems that display on-off intermittency, and present numerical experiments realizing these results. The particular results investigated are the scaling of the power spectral density and for the box counting dimension for the set of time intervals when the process takes on values above a given threshold. We also report the effect of additive noise on these results.
