Abstract

Fourth-generation technologies that use multiple layers are now under investigation. This presentation describes the inter-layer interference and crosstalk characteristics of multiple layers under several illumination conditions. For coherent laser beams, a Babinet decomposition of the recording structure is used. Limitations based on performance bounds are introduced for various film characteristics, like reflectance, transmittance and uniform or nonuniform layer spacing.
