Abstract

Human-resource managers from three large companies in computer software, healthcare, and manufacturing industries provided the introductory quotes. Each of these companies recognized the need for attending to applicants' perceptions of the selection process, but the reasons for this attention vary. Applicants' perceptions are considered important because they affect applicants' job acceptance decisions, perceptions of the organization and early turnover, and customer behavior and decisions.
