Abstract
The partial molal volume of a large number of surfactants in the micellar state was calculated by the addition of partial atomic values and the inclusion of a term to account for the hydrocarbon liquid‐like nature of the micelle interior. With micellar systems, such numbers often are difficult to obtain experimentally and this approach provides a means of determining relatively accurate values by simple calculation.
