Abstract
The fallacies and confusion among scientists, engineers, and commercial growers regarding correct quantification and reporting of radiation measurements for plant-production applications are discussed. The first fallacy is in the context of measurement of radiation for plant photosynthesis either radiometrically in watts or photometrically in lumens, which actually produces erroneous results. Radiation measurement for plant photosynthesis must always be expressed in units of moles of quanta since the interaction of radiation with matter or biomolecules is always quantized is another fallacy. The third fallacy is that it is believed that the measurement of radiation for plant photosynthesis in energy or power units is erroneous.
