Abstract
Bidirectional digital optical fiber system at the same wavelength over a single optical fiber, which provides that transmit pulses reflected back to receiver from adjacent directional coupler and/or connector fall between pulses from the far end, is theoretically considered and its feasibility is experimentaly confirmed. Such systems givebetter receiver sensitivity and require simpler couplers and connectors than similar systems whithout synchronisation. Necessary frequency and/or line length adjustments are investigated.
