Abstract

We present several two-dimensional and three-dimensional coded-modulation schemes enabling optical transmission well beyond 100-Gb/s, using commercial components operating at 40-Giga-symbols/s. The coded-modulation schemes include: bit-interleaved coded-modulation, multilevel-coding, and coded-OFDM; all three based on LDPC codes.
