Abstract

A 155 Mb/s per channel demonstration of an ATM switching fabric was constructed using a 4096 optical input and 256 optical output chip. The construction of the demonstration was achieved with minimal of optical hardware. Quickly reconfigurable optoelectronic VLSI permitted switching at ATM cell boundaries.
