Abstract

18F-NaF PET/CT is an evolving technique that provides high sensitivity for detection of osseous metastases. In addition to detecting pathological osseous lesions, 18F uptake is occasionally detected in extraosseous lesions. However, reporting of extraosseous uptake in the literature is limited, and the increasing use of 18F-NaF PET/CT dictates that interpreting physicians learn to recognize extraosseous findings. An atlas of extraosseous findings detected by 18F-NaF PET/CT is presented, which includes cases under 2 broad categories: nonneoplastic and neoplastic.
