Abstract
To the Editor: In their excellent review article on the use of aspirin in ischemic heart disease (July 16 issue),1 Willard et al. cite the Department of Veterans Affairs cooperative studies,2 , 3 but we would like to emphasize that our recent work demonstrates that preoperative aspirin offers no additional benefit in early vein-graft patency as compared with aspirin therapy (325 mg) that begins six hours after surgery.
