Abstract

The paper briefly describes and synthesizes the empirical results generated in the human factors studies and suggests future research avenues in this area. Human factors research in the area of man-robot systems has already yielded interesting and useful data. However, much work is yet to be done to fully characterize all aspects of man-robot interactions. Although the few studies performed so far have been concerned mostly with safety aspects, productivity considerations should also be considered in future research.
