Abstract

The presence of a naturally occurring antibody in normal rabbit serum and in rabbit anti human thymocyte globulin reactive with membranal antigens of the human thymus (both thymocytes and thymic tissue) was identified by immunofluorescence. Knowledge of the presence of this antibody is of particular practical importance in the utilization of immunofluorescence as a criterion for evaluating and correlating the in vitro activity of antilymphocyte (and thymocyte) sera with its potential in vivo immunosuppressive potency.
