Abstract

This study concerns the development of a peridynamic model for deformation and cracking of orthotropic material properties in ANSYS framework. Peridynamic governing equations are constructed by using current element technology of ANSYS. In this approach, there is no need to know User Programmable Features (UPF) of ANSYS in order to create user defined element Application Programming Interface (API). Hence, the modeling procedure is simple and convenient for ANSYS users. The numerical results concern the verification of the implementation and modeling by comparing with 2-D and 3-D benchmark solutions.
