Abstract

ZnO thin film optical waveguides produced by sputtering have been examined in the high intensity regime. Decrease by a factor of 20 in the efficiency of prism coupling has been observed. Time resolved analysis of the output pulses shows evidence of a two photon resonance with relatively long time constants. The angular variation in prism coupling efficiency exhibits broadening and shift at high powers.
