Angle-tuned third-harmonic generation in direct-bonded periodically-poled congruent lithium niobate crystal

Abstract

We demonstrated third-harmonic generation (THG) in direct-bonded periodically-poled congruent lithium niobate. Efficient THG was obtained by cascaded second-harmonic generation and sum-frequency mixing. The two independent quasi-phase-matching conditions were satisfied simultaneously by angle tuning in the xz-plane.
