Abstract
Chandrasekhar's method of solution is applied to a “simple transport model” designed to simulate a velocity shift found in kinetic theory. With the iterative evaluation of the H-like functions, a highly accurate (4-place) numerical evaluation is achieved. A recently developed numerical Laplace transform inversion is employed to obtain the interior flux distribution. In addition, several interesting theoretical properties satisfied by these H-functions are presented. Finally, to provide an alternative solution, the FN method is applied to the equivalent integral equations yielding the exiting flux.
