Abstract

This lesson engages students in understanding linear regression while introducing critical quantitative thinking and awareness. Although not core to mathematics, this lesson addresses issues of equitable collaboration among students and affirms the importance of mistakes in the process of math identity development in hopes of increasing representation within the field of quantitative research. The lesson makes use of highly structured collaborative learning alongside the interactive technology platform Desmos. This method encourages students to be actively engaged, think critically and learn from one another.
