Abstract

An achromatized endoscope for ultrahigh resolution OCT has been developed to maintain full 260 nm bandwidth of a Titanium:sapphire laser enabling sub-3 μm axial resolution while achieving a 4.4 μm transverse resolution. Using this special endoscope, ultrahigh resolution OCT of morphological features like crypts in colonic mouse mucosa, as well as muscular mucosa, submucosa, muscularis externa, and serosa layers could be demonstrated in situ.
