Abstract
Recent data on neutral-pion photoproduction in the dip region is near the limit of a constraint equation. We show that the limit implies a simplified view of the helicity amplitudes. Within the framework of the dual absorption model we estimate the qualitative shape of the amplitudes and find that the observed structure differs from that predicted in current models of π0 photoproduction.
