Abstract
The structure of amorphous solids on various scales, including atomic structure, submicrostructure, microstructure, and macrostructure, is discussed. In the area of the atomic structure of oxide glasses, attention is directed to the relation between experimental data (and distribution functions derived therefrom) and the predictions of various structural models. In the area of submicrostructure, attention is focused on the widespread occurrence of phase separation, as well as on the relation between the multiphase structures observed and the mechanism of phase separation.
