Abstract

Substrate-transferred single-crystal semiconductor heterostructures are effective as low-thermal-noise optical coatings for small beams. We discuss developing GaAs/AlGaAs coatings at a size scale relevant to interferometric gravitational wave detectors such as LIGO.
