Abstract

The key features of the Hubble Space Telescope (HST) Advanced Camera for Surveys (ACS) are described. These features include a high throughput, wide field, optical and I-band camera, a critically sampled high resolution camera, and a high throughput, moderate field of view far ultraviolet, solar-blind camera. The performance of the ACS was also compared with that of the Wide Field and Planetary Camera (WFPC2) and the FOC.
