Abstract
A theoretical model which accounts for the salient features in the absorption and emission spectra of αT4 thin films is presented. Thus, such a model is recently used to account for the very similar photophysical properties of distyrylbenzene aggregates. It is found that for incoming light with wave vector k normal to the herringbone (ab) plane, the Davydov splitting (DS) is on the order of or larger than 1 eV.
