Abstract

The advent of the Internet of Medical Things allows using sensors implanted or placed over the body for monitoring people's global health. However, classical problems like network time synchronization are still present and need to be solved. In this paper, we present a wireless synchronized platform for long-term off-line monitoring of global health through the acquisition of heart rate, peripheral oxygen saturation, and gait and posture analysis based on muscle activity assessment. The network time synchronization is achieved thanks to a low-power accurate time synchronization algorithm developed by the authors. Experimental results on a healthy subject prove both the accuracy of time synchronization and the proposed system functionality.
