Abstract

We have designed a compact spectrometer by cascading a simple Fabry-Perot etalon and a volume hologram. The volume hologram expands the limited spectral range of the Fabry-Perot and the combination of both elements results in a powerful spectrometer with good two-dimensional spatial-spectral diversity in the output plane.
