Abstract

Caring for burn patients can be complex and difficult. While there are numerous guidelines written by burn experts and enforced by various organizations, the final decision as to how certain patients will be managed and treated will depend on the surgeon caring for that patient. As technology is evolving, resuscitation and aggressiveness by which severely burn patients are cared for is changing dramatically.
