Abstract
Traumatic injury in older adults is a public health crisis. The trauma care community is the optimal and appropriate system to lead the charge in addressing complex issues related to aging and injury. Input and expertise from stakeholder organizations is critical to solving the challenges outlined in this paper. The strategies proposed by the Geriatric Trauma Coalition provide an action plan for advancing the optimal care of injured older adults. Although the plan is ambitious, it is attainable through engagement and participation of the multiple stakeholders. This work is of vital importance and will continue to be for generations to come.
