A joint-design approach for extended depth of field imaging

Abstract

We present a joint-design approach to extended depth of field imaging within the computational imaging framework. Superior performance of the optimized Zernike phase-mask, relative to cubic and trefoil phase-masks is demonstrated by simulation and experiment.
