Abstract
In this chapter, we discuss what digital-native Latinx news media are, their main characteristics and how they are serving Latinx communities. As media that has emerged in the digital world, most of these news organizations are young, technically savvy and are reaching communities where they are, which sometimes means producing news for non-traditional media such as messaging apps. These organizations are increasingly being created as non-profits, are fostering transnational spaces for their teams and their audiences and are getting more vocal about amplifying the voices of their communities. We present a case study and an interview with a Latina news entrepreneur.
