Abstract

This paper demonstrates a design of dual-polarized Vivaldi array to feed high-gain broadband Luneburg lens. The proposed conformal Vivaldi array, placed around the lens surface, is composed of 8 x 4 horizontal polarized elements and 7 x 3 vertical polarized elements. The performance of the entire 3-D graded index Luneburg lens antenna (30 cm diameter) has been evaluated based on simulated radiation patterns using commercial full-wave electromagnetic software.
