45° slanted fibre Bragg grating design with prism coupled holographic exposure

Abstract

A holographic technique for forming 45° tilted fibre gratings using two 45°-90°, -45° fused silica prisms is described. The technique reduces fringe distortion due to the lens effects of the fibre during exposure. Details of the experimental system and grating performance are given.
