3-D Modelling of cosmetic-ray transport in the heliosphere: Toward solar maximum

We present preliminary results from new developments in our 3-D time-dependent numerical codes modeling the diffusive transport of galactic and anomalous cosmic rays in the heliosphere, including drift, diffusion, and adiabatic cooling and acceleration. Our existing 3-D codes are modified to achieve a better description of solar maximum conditions. More complex structures of the current sheet are considered, including multiple current sheets during periods of high solar activity. Latitudinal and recurrent time-variations are discussed. The role of the variation of the magnetic field strength is briefly addressed.
