Abstract
A fully functional 2.5 Gb/s EA-modulated wavelength-selectable laser module based on a highly integrated InP chip is characterized. Power penalty for transmission over 680 km of conventional single-mode fiber of <0.5 dB, average output power >0 dBm, and linewidth <9 MHz is shown on all 20 channels.
