179 nm Generation with borate crystal

Abstract

We demonstrated the generation of 179 nm vacuum-ultraviolet (VUV) lights with a solid-state laser system. It was realized in LiB3O5 crystal by mixing the deepultraviolet of 198.8 nm and the infrared of 1799.9 nm.
